The Teaching Awards were established by Lord David Puttnam CBE in 1998 to celebrate and promote best practice in education. They also aim to promote teaching as a career. The best teachers make an outstanding contribution to their schools and their communities. Students, parents, governors and colleagues can nominate, but it is often the students themselves who put forward the name of their best teacher as a way of saying “thank you”. Each year we have been privileged to work with these dedicated and gifted colleagues.
