We have recently visited Mexico City and the World HIV/AIDS conference there. This project looks at HIV and motherhood. We recorded interviews with 12 HIV positive women from all over the world who are either mothers or want to become mothers. They told the stories of how they became HIV positive and how they have fared since. Some of their experiences are heart rending and many have faced prejudice and stigma. But each of them display courage, resilience and a desire to change the world. The photographs appear with the full permission of the interviewees. We also talked to several activists working in this area such as Mary Robinson (former President of Ireland) and Dr Musimbi Kanyoro. You can listen to the interviews in full on the Strategies for Hope website.
